In 1971, Linda marries Chuck Traynor, who introduces her to Gerard Damiano. It is the latter who wants her in her film The true deep throat, initially distributed in Italy under the title Deep throat. On the advice of Damiano, Linda chose the stage name of Linda Lovelace.

After The True Deep Throat, for which she receives a fee of $ 1,250, Lovelace stars in several other hard productions, starting with the sequel, directed by Joseph W. Sarno, Deep Throat. In the same year, Linda divorces Traynor, and she marries Larry Marchiano, with whom she will have two children: Dominic, born in 1977 and Lindsay, in 1980.
