The blue conquers the fifth medal of the career
Jessica Rossi wins the silver medal in trap at the 2023 World Skeet Shooting Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan. The blue conquers the fifth medal at world level (the first obtained from the gold medal in Moscow 2017).
The London 2012 Olympic gold medalist, who has already guaranteed Italy a national place for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games, reported the fourth score in the qualifiers (119 +5), which came after a shoot-off including four other athletes. Once the pass for the final six was detached, then, the champion from Cento closed with a score of 39/50, placing herself behind only the Taiwanese Chun Lin Yi (gold with 40/50). Four errors in the last ten targets were decisive for Rossi, which compromised the final head-to-head against the Asian. The Teutonic Kathrin Murche (bronze with 28/40) completed the podium. Eighth place, instead, for Silvana Stanco, who unsuccessfully took part in the shoot-off, stopping one step away from the last act. She too, like Rossi, has already won the Olympic card thanks to last year’s triumph at the European Championships in Larnaca.
