2034 World Cup in Saudi Arabia, FIFA announcement

President Infantino: “Football unites like nothing else”

FIFA president Gianni Infantino has confirmed that the 2034 World Cup will be played in Saudi Arabia. “The greatest show on earth will be organized in 2026 in North America by Canada, Mexico and the USA. The other two editions will be held in 2030 in Africa (Morocco), Europe (Portugal and Spain) and South America, with three celebratory races (Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay) and in 2034 in Asia, with Saudi Arabia”, wrote the number one in world football on his Instagram account.

“Three editions, five continents and ten countries involved in the organization of the tournament matches: this makes football truly global. While we live in an increasingly divided and aggressive world, we demonstrate once again that the most important sport in the world unites as nothing else”.

“The application procedures were approved by consensus through the FIFA Council, where all six confederations are represented, after constructive dialogue and extensive consultation. Thank you to everyone who participated in this positive exchange,” concluded Infantino .
