Acer launches the first Chromebook optimized for cloud gaming

The GE 516 laptop is compatible out of the box with GeForce Now, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Amazon Luna

Acer has announced the Acer Chromebook 516 GE, the first Chromebook optimized for cloud gaming. The computer is equipped with 12th Generation Intel Core processors, 120Hz refresh rate display, RGB keyboard with anti-ghosting technology, advanced DTS audio and support for leading cloud gaming platforms, including GeForce Now’s highest performance level. Nvidia, Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) and Amazon Luna. Game streaming is streamed from SuperPOD Nvidia GeForce Now, the supercomputer operating in the cloud, and enables game streaming at resolutions up to 1440p and frame rates up to 120 fps (frames per second) and other important graphics features such as ray tracing. The battery lasts up to nine hours, and connections include an RJ-45 2.5G Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, two USB Type C, USB Type A, HDMI and Bluetooth 5.2 to connect accessories wirelessly. “Acer Chromebook 516 GE ushers in a new era of Chromebooks designed specifically for gaming; manages to combine ideal gaming hardware, game streaming support for high-end NVIDIA GeForce NOW products, and easy access to the most popular titles from leading cloud gaming platforms, ”says James Lin, General Manager, Notebook, IT Products Business, by Acer Inc. “Chromebooks have established themselves as indispensable tools for education, work and personal productivity. Over time, new games and bundles will be added. Acer Chromebook 516 GE will be available in Italy in early 2023 starting from 999 euros.
