Acqua, Tajani: “Rome candidate for World Forum headquarters in 2027”

Foreign Minister Antonio has it in a message during the ANBI Assembly

Italian candidacy of the city of Rome as seat of the World Water Forum 2027. Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani made it known in a message during the ANBI Assembly, as announced by the association, which reports that the Deputy Prime Minister also recalled how Italy already hosts the World Water Assessment Program ( WWAP) of Unesco, author of the World Water Development Report of the United Nations.

“We appreciate the work of the World Water Council in highlighting the relevance of water issues”writes Tajani. “We consider the World Water Forum as a fundamental platform for discussion between public institutions, local authorities, civil society, businesses and the academic world. For these reasons, the Italian government intends to apply to host the 2027 World Water Forum in Rome.”

“We are honored that Minister Tajani has chosen our Assembly for such a significant announcement”, comments Francesco Vincenzi, president of Anbi. “Italy’s hydraulic history and the operational expertise also demonstrated in the recent flood in Emilia Romagna, as well as territory drawn daily by water will be able to offer an extraordinary setting, in which the reclamation and irrigation consortia want to be among the protagonists”.
