Adani and Messi, Mexico fans: “Rai commentary biased, too much cheering”

“The commentator’s superhero was clearly Messi, but that’s an excess”

“We had fun anyway, the Mexican fans are happy all the same, we enjoyed the show, but the commentary was biased, it belittled Mexico, and this shouldn’t happen, there should be more impartiality.” To tell Adnkronos, commenting on Lele Adani’s commentary, a large group of Mexican fans who are friends of the Mexican Cultural Association in Rome, who express strong dismay at the Rai commentary of the Argentina – Mexico match which saw the Albiceleste triumph for 2-0 against Mexico.

“It was evident that the journalist considered Messi his superhero -says one of them, the spokesman of the group that meets every evening to watch the World Cup matches- I can also understand it, he is one of the best players in the world and this match for Leo Messi it was fundamental and he couldn’t lose it. But there was an excess of supporters, the commentator must be impartial, so he belittles our team.”

The Mexican fans, however, are keen to let you know, it is not easy to demolish. “As a fan base, the Mexican one undoubtedly won, we are always happy, just for loving football and the colors of our team – they say – There was a lot of emotion, we all saw it in the group. We are very emotional, but c ‘it’s something in football that drives us to sing and rediscover the spirit of our country.” And on the match, they add: “It is true that Argentina won 2-0, but at the beginning they couldn’t figure out how to find victory, then Messi found how to unlock the game”. Demoralized? “Not at all – they assure us – we continue to follow him, to get together, we will celebrate anyway. In the coming weeks we will sing and embrace, eat and do everything to be happy, even if it doesn’t always go well”.
