On the controversies related to the commentary by sports journalist Lele Adani the Association of Radio and Television Services Users takes the field, which, in a statement released to Adnkronos, intervenes on the matter following last night’s match Argentina – Mexico World Cupaddressing harshly to the Rai. “Protests from many quarters are multiplying not only by football fans but also by viewers about the commentator’s excessive and inappropriate comments – explains the Association – A commentary of the matches that looks more like a provincial “sports bar” than the public service that Rai is required to guarantee to its subscribers”.
The comments live at the World Cup matches, adds the Association, “represent an important aspect of the matches, both at a technical-sporting level and at a television show level, and must be characterized by balance and respect for the public who follows the events from home. We wonder on the basis of what criteria Rai – although aware of Adani’s style and way of doing commentary – chose to include him among the commentators of the Qatar World Cup and if, in the light of the many protests raised by fans and viewers, it is not the case of suspend his participation in the commentary of the World Cup“, concludes the Association of Radio and Television Services Users.
