“There priorities in Côte d’Ivoire and Africa itself, therefore, is first and foremost access to energy, to electricity, because a large part of the African population does not have it”. This was stated by Mohamed Koita Sako, director of the Ecole de Formation Continue et de Perfectionnement des Cadres, Institut National Polytechnique Félix Houphouët-Boigny on the sidelines of the Inaugural Conference of the International Network on African Energy Transition organized by Eni and Luiss.
“Energy transition means changing habits in the production, distribution and consumption of energy, and doing so in a sustainable way. We must promote sustainability, reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and, finally, encourage energy efficiency, that is, promote energy management first and foremost. There is the problem of financing, training and qualified manpower and integration into existing traditional networks. Research must therefore focus on certain points, such as the development of intelligent grids and so on.”
