Alec Baldwin is charged with manslaughter in Halyna’s death

What happened on the set of the film ‘Rust’

US actor Alec Baldwin faces manslaughter charges the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the film ‘Rust’. The New Mexico District Attorney’s Office said so.

Both Baldwin and on-set weapons supervisor Hannah Gutierrez-Reed will face involuntary manslaughter charges in Hutchins’ death on the set of the film, which was filming in Santa Fe County.

Assistant director David Halls signed a plea deal on charges of negligent use of a deadly weapon, the district attorney’s office said.

No specific charges will be filed for the non-fatal wounding of ‘Rust’ director Joel Souza in the same shooting.

“After a thorough review of the evidence and the laws of the state of New Mexico, I have determined that there is sufficient evidence to bring criminal charges against Alec Baldwin and other members of the Rust film crew,” said District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies. “Under my jurisdiction, no one is above the law and everyone deserves justice.”
