“After the dismissal on Christmas Eve of 92 Mayr Melnhof workers in the Cervia production plant, destined to be relocated to Spain or Poland, a decisive intervention from the Meloni Government is still awaited to save these jobs. Despite the laudable commitment of the Prefect of Ravenna, Castrese De Rosa, and the local authorities and despite the commitment of the Focaccia di Cervia Group to take over the plant, the Austrian multinational continued to pursue its shameful objective of eliminating this production site for avoid any form of competition in the territory. This behavior is particularly odious because Mayr Melnhof has until now benefited from the social safety net and the insurance premium reserved for companies damaged by the flood in Romagna. Also for this reason the Government must immediately respond to the appeal of the unions and the Prefect to open a National Crisis Table also involving the Commissariat Structure of Gen. Figliuolo, threatening the Austrian multinational with specific retaliation if it does not agree to hand over the plant to the new buyers”. So he declared. Gianni Alemanno, National Secretary of Independence!
“The Indipendenza! political movement, which promptly intervened on this matter thanks to our municipal councilor Monica Garoia, will do everything in its power to force the competent ministers to intervene, while it is preparing a bill that introduces precise regulations that allow prevent and punish similar behavior on the part of multinationals, who come to Italy when it is convenient for them, pocketing public contributions of all kinds, and then fire workers as soon as this convenience seems to disappear. Italy cannot be the comfortable lodging for speculators of this kind”.
