Jeff Bezos in Rome it is still news. The founder and president of Amazon spent several days in the capital, a guest at the Hotel De Russie, in the company of Lauren Sanchez. They have been immortalized several times, but one photo in particular attracted attention: last Saturday, during the afternoon Bezos stopped at the Colosseum.
As La Repubblica writes, he was accompanied by Gianluca De Marchi, CEO of Urban Vision, a media company leader in sponsored restorations. Hence, the hypothesis that Bezos may be interested in investing in culture, through restoration, by financing projects.
Documenting another Bezos appointment in Rome was Forbes. The number one of Amazon was a guest of John McCaffrey’s Galileo Foundation which organized an exclusive event in the Vatican. The ‘Faith and Phylantrophy summit’ brought together 145 leading philanthropists from five different faiths who have pledged to join forces to solve some of the world’s most pressing problems.
It was the first time that important philanthropists, such as Jeff Bezos and Laura Turner Seydel, met with religious personalities such as Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Pope’s Secretary of State, and Cardinal Peter Turkson, Chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences.
