Eighty-five years old and not feeling it, being Sir and having two Oscars on the shelf but never taking yourself too seriously. The recipe for a happy and long life looks like this, at least according to Anthony Hopkins: have fun, have fun, and have more fun. The award-winning British actor who played the scary Hannibal Lecter on screen is, in everyday life, an extremely jovial person. And he also confirms it with the video posted on his social networks on Sunday 23 April.
Dancer for a Sunday
In the reel, Anthony Hopkins appears on the splendid lawn of his estate in the company of his coach, Welsh like him, in what should be a boxing lesson. But to keep fit and keep body and spirit young at the same time, there’s nothing better than a little music. Thus, to the notes of Dean Martin’s Mambo Italiano, Sir Anthony improvises as a dancer and drags the coach along with him. Two dance moves, two punches, two dance moves, two punches.
AN ACTOR IN FULL ACTIVITY
“Sunday vibes with my Welsh coach – writes the actor – I’d rather dance than train”. And just below a follower points out: “To train you need a coach, but to dance you need an artist”. An eclectic and all-round artist, one might add, for an actor who has no intention of retiring from the stage, that in 2022 he was at the cinema with two films (Armageddon Time – The Time of the Apocalypse And The Son) and who is soon to be playing Emperor Vespasian in the TV series Those About to Die and of Sigmund Freud in Freud’s Last Session after you finish shooting One Life and voicing Jimmy in Rebel Moon by Zack Snyder.
