Aquaculture, Fini (Cia): “It represents the future of fishing”

Cristiano Fini, national president of CIA – Italian farmers, on the sidelines of the conference “State of the art and future projects” promoted by PescAgri

– “In Veneto we have the opportunity to exploit the areas of Lake Garda for aquaculture, which in my opinion represents the future of fishing and is a strategic asset for the fishing sector. For this reason there is a need to continue investing and to do so it is first of all necessary to create the bureaucratic and political conditions so that interested investors have the possibility of giving greater development to aquaculture”. These are the words of Cristiano Fini, national president of CIA – Italian farmers, on the sidelines of the conference “State of the art and future projects” promoted by PescAgri, the association of Italian fishermen, in turn supported by CIA-Agricoltori Italiani for the protection, development and enhancement of aquaculture, and organized as part of the project “PescAgri we want!” funded by the Masaf.

“Attracting investments also means attracting tourism – added Fini – for years, in fact, we have been reaffirming the link that there must be between agriculture, the fish sector and tourism. In fact, those who come to visit these areas look for the landscape and, consequently, everything related to water, a heritage that Italy must be able to make available to both Italian and foreign tourists”.
