The company introduces ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090, 4080 White Edition and the Asus GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua OC Edition
Asus has announced the arrival of new GeForce RTX 40 series cards with the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090, 4080 White Edition and the Asus GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua OC Edition. Just like the original ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090, the White Edition is a 3.5-slot card featuring high performance and optimized cooling. The chassis, frame and backplate plate are made of metal, and the heat sink offers 30% more contact surface than the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090. With a heat load of 500 watts, the patented vapor chamber of the Strix GeForce RTX 4090 White Edition offers temperatures 5°C cooler than a traditional vapor chamber. Its updated Axial-tech fans feature thicker fans to deliver 23.8% more airflow and 19.3% more static pressure than the previous generation. These improvements allow the graphics card to maintain low temperatures for the GPU and, at the same time, maintain a noise level in line with previous generation models, despite the extra horsepower.
The new GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition incorporates a pair of Noctua NF-A12x25 fans to drive air over a large heat sink, co-developed between Asus’ thermal R&D team and Noctua engineers. The pair of 120mm fans thus ensures high cooling performance at low noise levels, with a homogeneous acoustic signature and high cooling performance, making it one of the quietest cards in the world. To achieve this goal, HP explains, a vapor chamber was designed with a network of eight heat pipes. Operating at a typical GeForce RTX 4080 TDP of 320 watts, the card peaks at 61.7°C, with the same noise levels as previous GeForce RTX 3070 and RTX 3080 Noctua Edition models. The Dual BIOS switch, located on the edge of the rear panel, has Quiet mode turned on by default, keeping noise to a minimum right from the start. The new ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 White Edition and ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4080 White Edition video cards are available now. The GeForce RTX 4080 Noctua Edition will be available soon. The recommended retail prices start at 1,899 euros for the White Edition series and 1,899 euros for the Noctua Edition respectively.
