The Civil Protection has issued a warning of adverse weather conditions
“A perturbation of North Atlantic origin, arriving today on the northern Italian regions, will bring severe bad weather conditions in the coming days” on Italy. As the Civil Protection Department informs, “the intense perturbation will be preceded and accompanied by a marked reinforcement of the ventilation from the western quadrants which will progressively affect the whole of the Centre-South and part of the North”.
On the basis of the forecasts available, the Civil Protection Department, in agreement with the regions involved – which are responsible for activating the civil protection systems in the territories concerned – has issued a notice of adverse weather conditions. The weather phenomena, impacting on the various areas of the country, could determine hydrogeological and hydraulic criticalities which are reported, in a national summary, in the national criticality and alert bulletin which can be consulted on the Department website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).
The warning provides, from the early hours of tomorrow, strong to stormy winds from the western quadrants on Liguria, Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany, extending to Marche, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise and Puglia, with reinforcements up to strong storms along the Apennine ridges and locally on the coastal ones, with associated strong storm surges along the exposed coasts. Furthermore, on the basis of the expected weather phenomena, a yellow alert has been assessed for tomorrow in some sectors of Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Umbria, Abruzzo, Molise, Basilicata and Calabria. The meteorological picture and criticalities forecast for Italy are updated daily on the basis of new forecasts and the evolution of phenomena, and are available on the website of the Civil Protection Department (www.protezionecivile.gov.it), together with the general behavior to adopt in case of bad weather.
