NBC News, citing sources, reports the US president’s outburst
In private conversations, American President Joe Biden would have expressed all his “frustration” at the “inability to convince Israel to change military tactics in the Gaza Strip”. This was reported by NBC News which cites “five people in direct contact with the comments” and states that Biden also ‘vented’ himself with donors to his campaign. The American president, according to three sources, even called Netanyahu an “ass…” on at least three occasions.
Biden has reportedly said he is trying to get Israel to agree to a ceasefire after more than four months of Israeli military operations in Gaza in response to the October 7 attack on Israel, but Netanyahu – who the US president United States has known for decades – is “putting him through hell”.
When asked about the words attributed to Biden, a spokesperson for the National Security Council reiterated that “the president has been clear on the points of disagreement with Prime Minister Netanyahu, but this is a decades-long relationship that is respectful in public and private”.
