Blue Beetle, the new Warner Bros. film inspired by the DC Comics superhero of the same name, will be released on August 17 at the cinema. Warner has released the trailer of the film in which we see the protagonist Jaime Reyes (Xolo Maridueña) grappling with an alien relic capable of giving him incredible superpowers. The tone appears fun and light-hearted with the character who will transform into Blue Beetle and will have to learn to manage his new powers and the great responsibilities that come with it. The cast
In the cast, alongside Maridueña (Cobra Kai), include Adriana Barraza (Rambo: Last Blood, Thor) as Jaime’s grandmother, Nana, Damían Alcázar (narcos, Narcos: Mexico) into that of his father, Elpidia Carrillo (Mayans MCthe saga of Predator) as the mother, Bruna Marquezine (Maldives, God Save the King) in that of Jenny Kord, Raoul Max Trujillo (the films of Hitman, Mayans MC.) as Carapax, Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon (Monarch, Dead Man Walking) such as Victoria Kord and George Lopez (the sagas of Rio And The Smurfs) as his uncle Rudy. Also starring Belissa Escobedo (American Horror Stories, Hocus Pocus 2) as Jaime’s sister Milagro and Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) who plays Dr. Sanchez.
DIRECTION AND SCREENPLAY
Directed by Soto (Charm City Kings, The Farm) from a screenplay by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (Miss Bala), based on DC characters. John Rickard and Zev Foreman are producers and Walter Hamada, Galen Vaisman and Garrett Grant are executive producers. Of note is the presence of cinematographer Pawel Pogorzelski (Midsummar, Hereditary) and Academy Award-nominated costume designer Mayes C. Rubeo (Jojo Rabbitthe films of Thor).
