The main European financial centers closed the day with minimal variations. After a negative opening, Piazza Affari recovered its losses by recording -0.15% to 26,482 points. Sentiment remains dominated by the 25 basis point increase in interest rates communicated at yesterday’s Fed meeting, and by the prospect of a peak at 5.1% in 2023. The spread between BTPs and German Bunds stands at 185 basis points with a 10-year bond yield at 4.05%.
The main index of Piazza Affari recorded a brilliant session for Inwit (+5.21% ) which according to some rumors could be the subject of an offer by the private equity fund Ardian. In evidence among the utilities Terna (+2.71%) and Snam (1.76%). Excellent performances also for Beghelli (9.17%), Eukedos (7.23%) and MondoTV (6.93%), which continues its recovery after the collapse of recent days.
The banking sector, on the other hand, trades below parity with Banco Bpm which marks the worst performance during the session at -3.01%. The decline of Industrie De Nora also stands out which, after the release of the 2022 balance sheet data and the revision of the estimates for 2025, records a loss of 4.82%.
