The young doctor discussed the thesis ‘Corporate Governance in the banking sector: a survey through the ESG rating’
“Young people are the future and not investing in the future would be really short-sighted”. Thus the president of Bper Banca, Flavia Mazzarella, during the ceremony of the ‘Guido Monzani’ Award, a recognition of 3 thousand euros dedicated to the memory of the former general director of the credit institution, intended for master’s degree graduates from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, authors of theses in the banking and financial field discussed between July 2020 and June 2021.
“It is an event – continued the president – in which Bper has been participating for over 20 years. The theme of culture is very important to us, which is why we want to invest and will continue to invest in the future as well. The winning thesis talks about ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) issues that are issues at the heart of Bper Banca: we have taken important steps because we believe that they are issues that cannot be ignored and the investment in environmental, social and governance factors is an investment that certainly gives value to institutions “.
Lorenza Stanzani, who in the meantime has already found a job in a consulting company, discussed the thesis entitled ‘Corporate Governance in the banking sector: an investigation through the ESG rating’. Lecturer Valeria Venturelli will be the speaker. “For me it is a great pride to be awarded here – commented the new doctor – in this difficult moment for everyone and I am honored to have been chosen for my thesis in the banking sector. I attended the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, the course is that of Analysis, consultancy, financial management and from the teachings I was given a passion for banking topics was born and from here I then chose the sector on which to do the thesis “.
Considering the quality of the work done and the course of study, the Judging Commission decided to also proceed with the delivery of a special prize of one thousand euros to Chiara Menichini from Reggio Emilia, who discussed the thesis entitled ‘Supervisory structures under the test of Covid 19. Three cases compared: Eurozone, United States, United Kingdom ‘and had as speaker the teacher Elisabetta Gualandri. “I graduated in the April session at the Department of Economics of Modena and Reggio Emilia ‘Marco Biagi’ – comments Chiara Menichini – and I thank Bper Banca for this important recognition which is the icing on the cake of a path that has been very demanding but at the at the same time very satisfying “.
The ceremony was also attended by Giuseppe Marotta, full professor of Political Economy at the University of Modena and Reggio, Lieutenant Colonel Enrico Gasparini, of the Military Academy of Modena, the municipal councilor for Labor and Legality Policies, Andrea Bosi, and the supervisor of one of the two awarded theses, Elisabetta Gualandri.
