Brad Pitt will compete with Lewis Hamilton in a Grand Prix for a film about Formula One

A actor Academy Award and a seven times world champion driver they will compete against each other at the wheel of a racing car on the Silverstone track in the first lap of British Grand Prix, scheduled from 7 to 9 July. As reported by the British newspaper The SunBrad Pitt would in fact have obtained special permission to compete against Lewis Hamilton on the occasion of the filming of the Formula One film of which the first will be hero and the second will be executive producer. The preparation of the set on the track will guarantee maximum realism: “We will start filming very soon at Silverstone. It will be the first film in which they will be made during a competition” commented Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula One. “It will be quite invasive in terms of production, but also another way to show that Formula One never stops.”

THE FILM

The film, whose title has not yet been disclosed and which is expected in 2024, will be directed by Joseph Kosinskyfresh from the worldwide success of Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise, and will tell the story of an ex-veteran Formula One driver ready to mentor a younger one. “I have high hopes,” Hamilton said of the Apple-produced project. “I know we will make the best racing film that has ever existed, also visually, and we will work to make sure we touch the hearts of all the fans.”
