The October 24th Britney Spears will publish the autobiography The Woman in Me, defined by Simon & Schuster’s Gallery Books, the publishing house that won the memoir after a commercial battle, “a courageous and surprisingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope” . The book will reveal “for the first time her incredible journey and the strength at the center of one of the greatest performers in the history of pop music” and will illuminate “the enduring power of music and love – and the value of a woman who tells his own story, from his point of view”. To share the rise to fame, tense relationships with the family, the tormented love stories, the fight against depression and mental health problems and the twelve-year battle to get the revocation of the conservatorship exercised by the father JamieSpears reportedly signed a $ 15 million contract which, a source explained to Page Six, would be “one of the biggest of all time, other than the Obamas” underwriters of a multi-book publishing deal valued at $65 million. “Britney’s convincing testimony in court shook the world, changed the law and showed her strength and courage and inspiration,” she told People Jennifer Bergstrom, vice president and publisher of Gallery Books. “I have no doubt her autobiography will have a similar impact – and that it will be the publishing event of the year.”
A TURBULENT PAST
In 2007 Spears, who between the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s reached the Olympus of international pop stars with hits like …Baby One More Timehe began to suffer of mental health problems exploded when, with his head shaved, he hit a paparazzi’s car with an umbrella. In 2008 the father Jamie obtained the right to practice on his daughter the conservatory, a legal institution reserved for elderly or mentally disabled people who have transferred complete control over the finances and decisions of the pop star into his hands. “I want my life back” Spears protested in court, who after attracting media attention and sparking the #FreeBritney movement got revocation of the institution in 2021. Other turbulent family relationships have involved the sister Jamie Lynnauthor in 2022 of the autobiography Things I Should Have Said. In an interview given to Good Morning America, the woman said she was locked in a room by Britney while holding a knife and being targeted by her screams during the lockdown. She doesn’t even have good blood with her children Sean Preston And Jayden James, respectively 17 and 16 years old, with whom the pop star has relaxed relations. Serenity in love was instead put to the test by the irruption of the ex-husband Jason Allen Alexander at the wedding celebrated with Sam Asghari, while last year Spears saw a glimmer of positivity in the creative sphere thanks to the release of the first song after a six-year break, the duet Hold Me Closer with Elton John.
