“My sweet mum showed up at my door yesterday after 3 years… it’s been a long time… with family there are always things to fix… but time heals all wounds!!!”, these the moved words of the diva.

Britney Spears: ‘I feel so lucky’
“After being able to communicate what I have been holding back for an extremely long time, I feel so lucky that we were able to fix things, to try and make it!!! I love you so much!!! Psss… I’m so lucky we can have coffee together after 14 years!!! Let’s go shopping later!!!” continued the star.
Alongside the caption, Britney Spears shared a photo from when she was a toddler, dressed as a ballerina in a pink tutu. An old photo from the past that goes well with the desire to rediscover that maternal relationship, just like when she was a child.
Mother and daughter have not spoken since the dispute for the protection of the pop star
Britney Spears and mother Lynne have experienced a complicated relationship following their fight over the protection of the pop star, which was interrupted in November 2021 after more than a decade. The artist was originally placed under guardianship in 2008 due to a mental health crisis she publicly had.
A few days before the end of the guardianship, Britney Spears lashed out at her mother in an Instagram post, which she later deleted. “Pssss my dad started guardianship 13 years ago…but what people don’t know is my mom gave him the idea!!!! I’ll never get those years back,” the singer wrote, as reports the always well-informed US magazine People.
Also in the same post, Britney Spears had added: “So take all your ‘I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT’S GOING ON’ attitude and go fuck yourself!!!! You know exactly what you did.” With these words, the singer was referring to both her mother and her former manager, Lou Taylor, calling into question (and mentioning) both.
Britney Spears’ parents and sister weren’t invited to her wedding
The singer of womanizer she did not invite her mother, sister Jamie Lynn Spears or father Jamie Spears to her wedding to 29-year-old Sam Asghari, the pop star’s current husband. The wedding was celebrated in June 2022.
Still, mom Lynne showed her support on social media after the nuptials, congratulating her daughter in the comments section of an Instagram post the singer shared a few days after getting married. The wedding, we remember, was celebrated in Britney Spears’ Californian home, in front of 60 guests.
“You look radiant and so happy!”, wrote Lynne Spears exactly one year ago, commenting in this sweet way on the series of wedding photos shared by her daughter. “Your wedding is the ‘dream’ wedding! And having it in your home makes it so sentimental and special! I’m so happy for you! I love you!”.
The first opening move to rebuild the relationship came from Britney Spears
Although the very first move to try to recover the relationship was made by the mother, who with her comment on her daughter’s wedding photos seemed openly eager to rebuild a relationship with her, it was Britney herself who contacted her mother after a few months.
In December 2022, the singer wrote to Lynne, telling her that she would like to go for coffee with her. She did it not privately but publicly, in a post on Instagram.
“Instagram doesn’t like posts from people showing off their bodies anymore so here’s a selfie of me in Mexico!!!” she wrote last December in the caption accompanying a snapshot of herself. “Mom and Dad.. I crossed the border and made it!!! After 15 years without coffee… mum we can go for a coffee together now!!! Let’s treat each other as equals… let’s have a coffee and talk about it!!!”.
