“It’s something that I don’t understand that is outside the political logic. The latter, the political logic, wants us to agree between the parties”. This was stated by the leader of the MPA, Raffaele Lombardo, in Catania, speaking with journalists on the sidelines of a demonstration of his movement, regarding the candidacy for mayor of the Northern League parliamentarian, Valeria Sudano, in the Lega share, in view of the local elections at the end May which, in addition to the posters that have already appeared in the city and its social networks, has just received the endorsement from its party ‘boss’, Minister Matteo Salvini.
“Our exponent and mayor of Adrano, Fabio Mancuso – recalls Lombardo – last Thursday participated in a meeting to start talking about center-right mayoral candidates in Catania and other cities. We updated but then, the next day, the candidacy of a party. But are we sure it’s a party, which is that of the League? – Lombardo asks himself – I express a different assessment. I think we’ll have to see next week”.
Lastly, for Lombardo, “either everything explodes following yesterday’s initiative, I sincerely hope not, or the rest of the centre-right joins in and at this point it would be appropriate for any candidatures that emerged ahead of time to withdraw”.
