“Cinema in festa” throughout Italy from 18 to 22 September: for five days it will be possible to attend the projections of all the films in theaters at the discounted price of 3.50 euros. It is the new promotional initiative of Anica, Anec, David di Donatello Foundation, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, which sees a large participation of cinema exhibitors: throughout Italy there will be over two thousand screens participating in the promotion.
The “Cinema in festa” initiative, presented during a press conference as part of the 79th Venice Film Festival, is a project that spans five years, starting from 2022 and up to 2026. The format, inspired by the ” Fête du Cinéma “French, provides a five-day ‘party’ in which the ticket will cost only 3.50 euros from Sunday to Thursday, or from the favorite day of the families to the day of the new weekly proposals. Every year there will be two appointments, one in September and one in June: the public will be able to attend all the films in normal programming, but also to previews, masterclasses and other special events, also in the presence of actresses, actors, directors, screenwriters, and other protagonists of the entertainment world.
“Cinemas are cultural centers and the collective viewing of a film is a unique and enriching experience,” said the Minister of Culture, Dario Franceschini, in a video message. It is important to bring cinemas to life – added Franceschini – and “Cinema in festa” will help to demonstrate that living the magic of cinema is a unique and indispensable collective experience that enriches people but also entire territories, neighborhoods and cities “. Franceschini has underlined, among other things, that it is “a bit paradoxical that such a golden moment for Italian cinema corresponds to a crisis in cinemas. We have to go back to explaining to people that it is one thing to see a film alone at home, another thing is to see it at the cinema, which is a unique experience “.
