Ciro Immobile, injury during Sassuolo-Lazio: how is he, the conditions

Sarri: “It doesn’t seem like a serious thing but we are waiting for the exams”

Lazio risks losing Ciro Immobile again to injury. During the first half of the match against Sassuolo, the Biancoceleste captain was replaced due to a problem with his right thigh flexor. While trying to catch a long ball, Lazio’s number 17 felt pain and, despite an initial attempt to stay on the field, he had to leave the pitch after only 15 minutes. Pedro has entered his place.

Once he arrived on the bench, after a brief conversation with coach Maurizio Sarri, Immobile was immediately treated by the Lazio medical staff who bandaged his right thigh just above the knee. From the first findings it is a right thigh flexor distraction. In 48-72 hours he will do the instrumental checks to determine the extent of the stop. His absence is certain for the round of 16 of the Italian Cup with Bologna, scheduled for next Thursday at the Olimpico; instead to evaluate his availability or otherwise for Lazio-Milan on Tuesday 24 January. “The feeling is that it’s not a serious thing, but without the instrumental exam it’s difficult,” Sarri told Sky Sport.
