“The provision for the abolition of the basic income is wicked and does not take into account the difficulties in which many people find themselves and live, not only here in Naples, but throughout Italy”. This was stated by Roberto Fico, president of the M5s Guarantee Committee, on the occasion of a press conference in Secondigliano, a district of Naples which had 36,000 recipients of basic income. “We must rebel against a cultural idea – he added – for which poverty and difficulty are attacked and we must get out of the paradigm that this ideological right carries forward: whoever takes the basic income is a slacker”.
“Ready to share battles with the Democratic Party”
On the hypothesis of collaboration with the Pd, Fico said: “We are ready to share battles such as the minimum wage, the Pnrr, the wicked differentiated autonomy. These are battles that must absolutely be fought together”. “And let’s not forget that income is withdrawn, while the Pnrr funds for the Municipalities are remodulated. It is a generalized attack on the South but also on the country because all these regulations are bad for Italy”, he said.
