On February 16, 2023, Claudio Amendola turns 60, one of the most loved Italian actors by the public. Born in Rome in 1963, he is the son of art: his parents are Ferruccio Amendola and Rita Savagnone, actors and dubbers. His debut is at 19 in the TV series Story of love and friendship, then he never stopped from there: in his career he achieved success and recognition by alternating lighter roles with dramatic characters. SOLDIERS – 365 AT DAWN/THE DAYS OF COMMISSIONER AMBROSIO/MERY FOREVER. In the following years he was chosen for more dramatic roles. In Soldiers – 365 at dawn (vertical photo), 1987 film directed by Marco Risi, plays the young soldier Claudio Scanna. In The days of Commissioner Ambrosio (bottom right photo), a 1988 film directed by Sergio Corbucci, is the policeman Luciano. In 1989 it was still directed by Marco Risi in Mary forever: it is Pietro, one of the students of Professor Marco Terzi (Michele Placido) in a juvenile prison in Palermo

ULTRÀ/ANOTHER LIFE/THE STOCK. In the early nineties you starred in two films by Ricky Tognazzi. The first, from 1991, is Ultra (top right photo): plays Luca known as “Prince”, Roma fan and leader of the Poison Brigade. The second, from 1993, is The stash (vertical photo): it is the officer Angelo Mandolesi, who is part of a magistrate’s escort. There is in between Another life, from 1992, directed by Carlo Mazzacurati: Amendola is Mauro, leader of a group of criminals from the Roman suburbs. THE LEGENDARY/QUEEN MARGOT. In 1994 these two films with Claudio Amendola were released. The legendary – Hunchback coup in Milan (photo on the left, with Monica Bellucci) is a comedy directed by director Carlo Vanzina: the actor is Fabio, the brother of a thief who agrees to carry out a heist for him. Queen Margot instead it is a dramatic film, a French-Italian-German co-production, directed by Patrice Chéreau: the film received several awards, including the Jury Prize at the 47th Cannes Film Festival

THE HUSSARO ON THE ROOF/PASOLINI, AN ITALIAN CRIME/MY GENERATION. In 1995 Amendola was in the cast of two films. In The hussar on the roof (top right photo), directed by Jean-Paul Rappeneau, is the carbonaro Paolo Maggionari. Pasolini, an Italian crime instead it is a film by Marco Tullio Giordana which reconstructs the murder of Pier Paolo Pasolini and the trial. Amendola is the Trepalle infiltrator, in charge of finding evidence. In 2009 Amendola is the protagonist, together with Paola Cortellesi, of the film The physics of water (left photo): directed by Felice Farina, this psychological thriller tells the story of a fatherless boy who has a phobia of water and lives with his mother in a small villa. The arrival of his uncle Claudio (Amendola) creates a short circuit in the boy’s mind.
