Codere, a multinational leader in the private gaming sector in Europe and Latin America, today announced the appointment of Luis Villalba as the new CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of Grupo Codere. “With almost 25 years of experience in the financial sector – it is explained in a note – Villalba will bring his solid knowledge and experience to boost the creation of value in the company“. The appointment of Luis Villalba – it underlines – follows the voluntary decision of Óscar Fernández de Llano, hitherto CFO of Grupo Codere, to leave his position for personal reasons. The company “sincerely thanks him for his significant contribution during the his stay in the group”.
Before joining Codere, Villalba held the position of financial director and member of the Executive Committee of the Deoleo Group, where he led the Accounting and Administration, Management Control, Treasury, Investor Relations, Tax and IT departments. Previously, he held other key positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers, in the Audit, Transaction Services and Business Recovery Services departments, as the company’s CFO for the last six years he was there.
Speaking of an “appointment that is part of the strategic evolution of Codere and its constant commitment to strengthen its leadership in the private gaming sector”, the group points out how in its new role as CFO Villalba “will take on the challenge of leading the financial strategy of the company after the refinancing.In addition, he will focus on the promotion and improvement of the reporting systems for decision-making processes in the different countries in which Codere operates and will boost the Investor Relations area, with the aim of consolidating the position of the company in the market”. “This incorporation is of great relevance in this new phase of the group, in which Codere seeks to consolidate its project and generate value in the market.
