Two consecutive sold outs, two dates full of emotion, joy and love. Coma_Cose filled the Fabrique with their fans, with their music, with their words, in an ideal return home, to the city that adopted them and made them reborn as artists, artistic duo and couple. Almost two hours of show, 25 songs, a complete immersion in the six years of a career made up of “slides”, to mention their latest Sanremo success, but also and above all of never banal ideas and musical contaminations.

From rap to indie pop

And if travel has to be, then it’s right that we start from the beginning, from the roots, from that last cig lit at dawn in Yugoslavia, of all the duo’s songs probably the one that best embodies Fausto Lama’s past and rapper training, then progressively moved towards more pop rock and melodic sounds without ever losing the habit of puns and whimsical calembour. And it’s a good way to warm up the environment with that “I come from nothing, I want everything” which in retrospect sounds almost like a programmatic manifesto that has found its full fulfillment in the last few days with the Platinum Disc achieved by The Farewell and displayed with pride and happiness to the Fabrique audience.

AN IMPOSSIBLE GOODBYE

The Farewellprecisely, the one that risked consuming the most beautiful couple of Italian pop music and putting an end to the experience of the most brilliant pop duo of the moment. The Farewell that was not there and has become a song, part of a journey, a text with which to tell the most difficult aspects of married life after having sung the mutual love with Flames in the Eyes and just before announcing the wedding. On stage California and Fausto are a perfect mix, her crystalline voice blends with his melodic rap. They are two complete artists, they could each hold the stage on their own, but the feeling one gets is that it is precisely their encounter and their fusion that generates the perfect alchemy at the basis of their success.

BETWEEN CLASSICS AND NEW SONGS

In the journey that continues through songs from the debut album Hype Aura as Grenade And Distorted Beach Boysto get to the most recent Transistor, I hate engines And NapsterFausto and California jump on their very personal timeline continuously surprising their audience, like when she leaves the stage for a moment and he improvises a jam session with the musicians of a band composed of guitar, bass, keyboards, drums and cello.

TWO THEATRICAL CURTAINS

There’s lots of music, little talk, just a couple of funny entr’actes. The first is a fake call that arrives on Fausto’s cell phone: “Everything here is full, I can’t now. Call me next time”, a code word to indicate to the public that the first single by A wonderful way to save yourself. “I have overcome the waves of a sea that sometimes throws me down, to return to the point where I meet you and you were no longer there, I have known bombs, iodine, winter, slavery, but you were always there you held me up”.

The second, on the other hand, is a dialogue between the two of them, which follows the instrumental jam session while a piano is brought onto the stage at which Fausto sits down to perform a triptych of lenses composed by Zombies at Carrefour, Integral Nude And Pakistan. It’s another proof of the eclecticism of an artist who during the live passes with ease from rap to rock, from synths to electric guitar to piano, to add different nuances to a story that always remains consistent with itself.

CONFETTI ON THE PUBLIC

Among the most exciting moments of the concert are The Song of the Wolves to reiterate the free and wild nature of the duo, the ending of Missing out sung in one voice by the audience, the hug at the end of The Farewellthe pink confetti rained down during Flames in the Eyes and the accompanying silver ones Post Concert anticipating the grand finale with You are made of glass, “the perfect song to close, because you always have to give yourself a second chance”. People stay “until they turn on the lights”, as promised just before, and even the queue at the store with the merchandise is the confirmation of the special relationship between Coma_Cose and their audience. Hearing them play live, seeing them perform together on stage, is an emotional and intimate experience, even when shared with 3,000 other people.
