Cecchi: “Our companies are leaders in conquering foreign markets and Confindustria Nautica has the role of support and promotion in global markets”
Also participate Confindustria Nautica, the national trade association that represents the entire supply chain of the pleasure boating industry in Italyat the 55th edition of the Düsseldorf Boot (20 – 28 January 2024), with an institutional stand (Hall 7 A / G09) to promote the internationalization of companies. And the stand is also the point of reference for the 110 Italian companies in the sector that participate as exhibitors, as well as for the Italian and international operators who visit the German exhibition.
“Our companies are leaders in conquering foreign markets and Confindustria Nautica has the role of supporting and promoting the entire pleasure boating supply chain in global markets” he states Saverio Cecchi, President of Confindustria Nautica. “Italian pleasure boating – underlines Cecchi – is in every way an ambassador of the excellence of Made in Italy in the world. We are the first producers of superyachts in the world, first in pleasure craft and in components and accessories. In 2022 we have regained the primacy of world exporters of boats: 88% of national production goes to international markets”.
The Genoa International Boat Show is strategic in the Association’s actions aimed at promoting and enhancing the sector, which in Düsseldorf presents a preview of the 64th edition scheduled from 19 to 24 September. Marina Stella, General Director of Confindustria Nautica, highlights that they are “already working on the next edition of the Genoa International Boat Show for which there are great expectations”. “The event – observes Stella – has for many years now boasted an authority and capacity for representation at an international level which places it in the highest ranking of nautical events”.
“The project of Levante Waterfront drawn by Renzo Piano will deliver in Genoa the first exhibition center in the world expressly suited and designed for pleasure boating. A cutting-edge location, projected towards the future” adds Stella. Meanwhile, Confindustria Nautica’s participation in the Boot is also strategic on the international comparison front. In fact, at the German show, representatives of the Association will take part in the Council at the beginning of the year and at the General Assembly of the European federation EBI – European Boating Industry of which the Association is part.
Confindustria Nautica also participates in the association meetings of ICOMIA (International Council of Marine Industry Associations which brings together over 40 national nautical federations around the world) “Marine Technology Hub”, the new working group to analyze the most recent technological innovations in the sector, and “Post Metstrade evaluation meeting”, an opportunity to take stock of the national collective exhibitions organized at the Amsterdam show held last November.
Confindustria Nautica’s 2024 plan for international presence and promotion of 64th Genoa International Boat Show in collaboration with ICE Agency involves participation in the main foreign sector events. In addition to the Boot in Düsseldorf, participation in the Miami International Boat Show (14-18 February), al Dubai International Boat Show (28 February – 3 March), al SMM Hamburg (3 – 6 September), atIBEX Show in Tampa – Florida (1 – 3 October), al Fort Lauderdale Boat Show (30 October – 3 November) et al METSTRADE of Amsterdam (19 – 21 November).
