Coppa Italia, Juve-Inter 1-1 in the first leg semi-final

Juventus advantage with Cuadrado, Lukaku replies from a penalty

Inter and Juventus draw 1-1 in the first leg of the Italian Cup semi-final. The match played at the Allianz Stadium in Turin was unlocked by Cuadrado’s goal, scored in the 83rd minute. Inter equalized in the 95th minute with a penalty converted by Lukaku. Both scorers, as well as Handanovic, were sent off in the scorching finale and will miss the return match scheduled for April 26 in Milan.

THE MATCH – The match begins with Juve aggressive and dangerous already in the 4th minute. Vlahovic turns on Di Maria who goes into percussion and engages Handanovic with a right low shot. The hosts try to play the game but the pace doesn’t take off: Inter don’t concede much, opportunities are a rare commodity. The Nerazzurri gradually conquered the pitch and in the 11th minute they showed up with a header from Lautaro: high ball. The chance that happens to Brozovic in the 33rd minute is clearer: the shot from the edge of the area is not angled, Perin keeps a clean sheet for Juve. On the other hand, in the 37th minute, Vlahovic headed Fagioli’s cross: central conclusion, Handanovic controlled without problems. Before the rest, an opportunity for D’Ambrosio. From a corner from the left, the defender can header from a few steps away but misses the goal.

The recovery proposes a similar script. The ball travels slowly, difficult to find spaces. We have to wait for the 64′ for a jolt. Mkhitaryan gets rid of Fagioli and shoots with his left foot: the ball is close to the post. Juve goes very close to taking the lead in the 77th minute with the new Milik signing. The ball offered by Cuadrado should only be pushed into the goal, but the Pole jams. The 0-0 jumps in the 83rd minute. Rabiot’s cross, Bastoni deflects and turns the ball into an assist for Cuadrado. The Colombian, stationed at the far post, checks and shoots: 1-0. Inter manages to equalize on the credits. A touch of the hand by Bremer is punished with the penalty. Lukaku made no mistake: 1-1 in the 95th minute. On the sidelines, 3 red cards: Lukaku, Handanovic and Cuadrado. All spectators back.
