Podoliak shifts the focus to Moscow
Ukrainian presidential adviser Mykhailo Podoliak describes the explosion on the Crimean bridge as “a manifestation of the conflict between Russian security forces” which “is escalating” and is going “out of the control of the Kremlin”.
“As for the Kerch bridge, this is a specific manifestation of the conflict between the Federal Security Service and the Wagner group on one side and the defense ministry and the general staff on the other,” Podolyak told Ukrainska Pravda. tracing the scenario of a clash between two camps: one with the intelligence services and the company of mercenaries Wagner, and the other with the leaders of the Defense.
“We are undoubtedly witnessing the beginning of a large-scale negative process in Russia. Control among the security forces has collapsed, serious conflicts have erupted between Russian special services, each is looking for people to blame for military defeats,” and they want to reform Putin’s inner circle and take other positions. Or arrest certain generals “, continued Podolyak.
The presidential adviser pointed out that the truck that exploded on the bridge came from Russia. Therefore, in his opinion, the answers must be sought in Russia. According to Podolyak, the logistics of the detonation, its synchronization with the fuel-laden train and the width of the destroyed road surface point towards Russia. “In this impressive incident – he says – we see that the conflict between the Russian military and power structures is intensifying and getting out of the control of the Kremlin”.
Podolyak believes that the Russian leadership is looking for people to blame for the defeats at the front, that the FSB and the owners of Wagner are campaigning for the dismissal of the military leadership: Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of Staff Valery Gerassimov.
“The explosion of the bridge, a personal project of Putin, not only undermines the position of the FSB, which allowed it to happen, but also offers the military an excuse for the systematic defeats in southern Ukraine. rear and the supply of reserves collapsed due to the failures of the FSB, “says Podolyak.
