Cyberpunk 2077, ray tracing arrives with RTX 40 Series

Nvidia has released a preview of Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode for the game CD Projekt Red

Nvidia has released the preview of Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode for Cyberpunk 2077, for GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards and taking advantage of DLSS 3 Frame Generation technology. DLSS adoption continues to expand at an ever-faster rate: Everspace 2 and Leap recently exited Early Access with DLSS 2 support, while Like a Dragon: Ishin! received a DLSS 2 performance update. Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode introduces full ray tracing, also known as path tracing, in Cyberpunk 2077.

“The technology preview of Ray Tracing: Overdrive Mode is but a taste of what the future of full ray tracing holds, and for this reason we are working closely with CD Prokekt Red to make further improvements, bug fixes and performance optimizations,” Nvidia wrote in a press release. “Reflections, shadows, ambient occlusion, and more have been optimized, giving you a more current look at the future of gaming graphics. Cyberpunk 2077 uses NVIDIA DLSS 3 to boost performance for GeForce RTX gamers, allowing them to experience the Night Ray Traced City”.
