Davide Renne, recently appointed creative director of Moschino, has died


Very tough moment at Moschino and in the fashion world which has just learned of sudden disappearance Of Davide Renne. The designer who had been appointed creative director of the Italian brand was the victim of an illness that struck him down forty-six years old.
Jeremy Scott’s successor worked for many years with Gucci, where he formed a strong professional and friendship bond with designer Alessandro Michele.

The news in a press release

The news of Renne’s death arrived on Friday 10 November via a press release from Aeffethe luxury group that purchased Moschino in 2021.
“There are no words to describe the immeasurable pain we are experiencing in this very dramatic moment,” he said Massimo Ferretti, President of the company. “Davide joined us only a few days ago, when a sudden illness ended his young life too soon. We still can’t believe what happened.”
Rumors reported by some newspapers speak of an illness and the stylist’s hospitalization in intensive care in recent days. Only a few days earlier, at the beginning of November, the creative had shared his first posts which contained all the enthusiasm for the start of the new role.
“With Davide we were working to a ambitious project, full of enthusiasm and optimism towards the future. Even though he was only with us for a very short time, Davide was able to immediately make himself loved and respected. Today we remain responsible for carrying forward what his imagination and creativity had only imagined. We embrace Davide’s family and numerous friends with affection.”

At Moschino’s service for a few days

Davide Renne was respected by all those who worked with him. Born in Tuscany in 1977, Renne nurtured his young talent at Polimoda of Florence where he began to develop his style influenced by his passion for architecture.
His training in the field boasts collaborations of great depth, first in Milan with Alessandro Dell’Acqua and then to Rome at Gucci where he worked alongside Frida Giannini to finally mature in the era of Alessandro Michele who nominated him head of the women’s collections.
Remaining at Gucci until the arrival of Sabato De Sarno, the brand’s current designer, Renne left his mark in the collections presented in 2023 signed by the style office collective.
The call from Moschino had honored him and with great joy he had accepted the challenge of carry on there lesson by Franco Moschinounforgettable Master of Made in Italy.
In line with the legendary creative, Renne had released a statement that took up the metaphor of the style office as a “games room”. Apparently, he immediately got to work creating it from scratch first collection that everyone was already waiting for at Milan Fashion Week in next February.
