Flamenco and the iconographic elements of the tradition of Moorish Spain are the inspirations of Cruise 2023 collectionfrom Dior. The Maison Dior maintains deep ties with Spain and the “Crucero Collection” 2023 celebrates this ancient friendship through clothes of craftsmanship which include second woven fabrics local techniques. In the second part of the show the proposals are decidedly more in the Dior by Chiuri style, hence the shades of the looks that change to beige and light gray, typical of the Maison

The last part of the show is reserved for evening dresses: maxi volume dresses proposed in several colors in taffeta that reflects the light: red, purple and ocher yellow, all colors that are linked to the Andalusian style

In the finale, the black and gold creations inspired by the dressed and bejeweled Madonnas of the major cathedrals of Seville stand out. The designer has published the videos of her tours in the city to discover the statues of the Virgins whose precious clothes are an expression of the superfine skill of local tailors and embroiderers. The one for the Virgin Maryin the version of the Addolorata, is an ancient cult, widely practiced in Spain and is a powerful reference for the feminist message conveyed by Chiuri in its collections

The whole parade is accompanied by the notes of flamenco played by a live orchestra complete with violins. The choreography is impressive and the dancers are dressed in scarlet Dior dresses, bodysuits and dresses in transparent tulle
