Experts from the Ingv seismic room in Rome have located the hypocenter in the sea, several kilometers south-east of the Isola dei Cavalieri at a depth of 10 kilometers. The Civil Protection Department of the Sicilian Region confirms that the earthquake was also felt by the population in some Sicilian municipalities in the provinces of Ragusa, Syracuse and Catania. But there were no reports of damage.
