Ed Sheeran stunned everyone by revealing that he is preparing a posthumous album, to be released upon his death.
The English singer-songwriter has revealed plans for this record which is indeed Sui generis. His new recording effort will be released in May 2023, titled Subtract (-), the latest math album. Meanwhile, the 32-year-old British artist confesses to Rolling Stone that he is working on a secret album that will be released upon his death. “I want to slowly make this album to be perfect. I want to add songs here and there,” she told the music magazine, referring to the fact that the record will be a project in progress for many years, we hope.
“Only after my death will it be published,” assures Sheraan.
In addition to this somewhat macabre project, shall we say, the singer is working on a new album with Aaron Dessner. It’s in a final stage, as he’s already mixing the record.
An album that he wants to make slowly
“I want to slowly make this album to be ‘perfect’ for the rest of my life, adding songs here and there,” Ed Sheeran told Rolling Stone.
Regarding the upcoming record, he said: “I’ve been working on Subtract for a decade trying to carve out the perfect acoustic album, writing and recording hundreds of songs with a clear vision of what I thought it should be.
However, after a “series of events that changed the [sua] life”, the new album will revisit the singer’s roots, focusing on his personal pain and hope, that light at the end of the tunnel that has always kept him going.
Sheeran said the album represents where she is now and “how [lui] needs to express [se stesso] at this point in his life.”
A record that “opens the trapdoor in his soul”
Speaking to RS Of Subtract (-)Ed Sheraan explained, “It’s opening the trapdoor into my soul. For the first time I’m not trying to make an album that people like, I’m just putting out something that is honest and true to where I am in my adult life. This is the diary entry from last February and my way of making sense of it,” he said Subtract (-)”.
The upcoming docuseries reveals the intimate side of Sheraan
In addition to various musical projects, the docuseries is also about to be released Beyond music (in original The Sum of It All), the highly anticipated project arriving in May on Disney + which chronicles the life and career of Ed Sheeran. Divided into four parts, it will be released on May 3, 2023, almost perfectly coinciding with the distribution of the artist’s new album, Subtracthis sixth studio album which will be available starting May 5th (with the first single Eyes Closed arriving March 24).
Beyond music is produced by Disney Branded Television and Fulwell 73 Productions with one goal: to show Ed Sheeran’s path that allowed him to achieve such a resounding worldwide success.
Retracing the path that was taken by this musician is not only a way to praise him, but is proposed above all as an example, an exhortation and also a consolation for all young people who feel annihilated by some limitation that causes them to get lost of mind.Beyond music in fact, it will show how this seven-note star managed to become one by overcoming “obstacles” such as the stutter that characterized him when he was a child. We define stuttering as an “obstacle” since the path of this artist was then that of songwriting, so if you want to sing, stuttering turns out to be a hindrance. But this docuseries will make it clear how even an obstacle universally recognized as such, namely the tragedy of the loss of a loved one, can somehow be metabolized to transform the unspeakable pain into a spring that can make us act, exactly as happened to Sheeran . An example for many people, especially young people.
