Egonu in Sanremo: “I thought it was a joke and instead it’s a dream come true”

“When Amadeus called me, I thought it was a joke… Instead it’s a dream come true!”. These are the words of the Italian volleyball champion Paola Egonu. On Thursday 9 February at the Ariston Theater in Sanremo, Egonu will be co-host of the Italian Song Festival, alongside the artistic director Amadeus on the most popular stage in our country. “I am very happy, honored by the invitation and aware of this very special occasion”, added the opposite of Vakifbank and leader of the Italian national volleyball team, considered one of the strongest volleyball players in the world

Paola Egonu’s participation in the Sanremo Festival was announced on Sunday 15 January on Tg1 by Amadeus. Reigning European volleyball champion with the Italian national team, winner of two Champions Leagues with Novara and Conegliano and the Club World Cup in 2021, today star of VakifBank, Paola Egonu, born in Cittadella on 18 December 1998, is a volleyball icon on and off the field, woman of the year D of Repubblica in 2019, voice of Sognaluna in the animated film Soul by Disney Pixar and former host of a television episode of Le Iene. In addition to Paola Egonu, alongside Amadeus and Gianni Morandi during the 73rd Festival of Italian Song, from 7 to 11 February at the Ariston Theater in Sanremo, there will be the digital entrepreneur Chiara Ferragni, the journalist Francesca Fagnani and the actress Clare Francini.
