Eicma 2023 closes and celebrates 110 years with over 560 thousand attendees

Over 2030 brands present, a historic record for the event, and over 700 direct exhibitors, of which 67% came from abroad representing 45 countries

Eicma drops the curtain. She extinguishes the flame on those that had been defined at the beginning as “the Olympics of passion and mobility on two wheels“, with 2036 brands present (historical record of the event), over 700 direct exhibitors, of which 67% coming from abroad representing 45 countries and more than 30% of companies present for the first time in the eight occupied pavilions, two more than in 2022 and three compared to 2021.

“The premises of the 80th edition of the international two-wheel exhibition, which closed yesterday evening at Fiera Milano Rho, were already those of an announced success – the organizers explain – and the results, at the end of the exhibition week, award the event in Milan, yet another gold medal. Attendance in fact exceeded 560 thousand, 563,848 more precisely, equal to +19% on 2022, numbers which attest to the 2023 edition as the best in the history of Eicma”.

The data linked to the business sector is very substantial: 39,392 operators in the sector, selected and profiled with the renewed quality criteria introduced in 2022, visited the exhibition in this 2023 edition. Of these, 52% came from abroad and in particular from 120 different nations.

The data regarding the presence of the media is also good: just over 7,000 people from 62 countries, including journalists, technicians and communication professionals, content creators, who took advantage of the exclusive press day on Tuesday and reported, even throughout the exhibition week, the show offered inside and outside the pavilions. And speaking of the entertainment offered by the exhibition, the success of the MotoLive arena, the outdoor space dedicated to races, entertainment and shows, with over 3000 seats in the stands always occupied, is also considerable.

Almost 9,000 visitors also took advantage of the test ride areas dedicated to e-Bikes and exhibitors’ vehicles, while the Esports Arena was taken by storm, the brand new and engaging exhibition content dedicated to the gaming world, which saw the presence of many young people and numerous VIPs and pilots. Also noteworthy is the interest that developed around the Yum (Your urban mobility) area, another novelty of 2023, which welcomed companies, institutions, law enforcement agencies, but also the most innovative startups in the sector, to which Eicma offers a international showcase thanks to the support of ICE, the Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies.

Finally, the feedback on digital services and in particular those linked to online ticketing, a purchasing method chosen by 88% of the general public, while 12% opted for the physical box office, was positive.

“There is no pre- or post-pandemic, there is Eicma – comments the CEO of Eicma, Paolo Magri -. Reading these results leaves no room for interpretations and confirms how our appointment is still today “business and relationship opportunities, and above all, marketing and communication, more performing for companies in our sector. We continue to demonstrate an international attractiveness and value unique in the world, growing continuously and exponentially in all indicators from 2021 , when some thought that our event was obsolete. Added to this is the growing attention of the institutions, which also relaunches the value of EICMA as an indispensable moment to shine a spotlight on the needs of the sector and increase its relevance and authority”.

“Eicma – adds the president of Eicma, Pietro Meda – has not only continued to invest in its evolution from a fair to an exhibition event, but enters its one hundred and tenth year of history with an open look to the future and to the innovation of the event itself, establishing to some extent also as a transversal and customary event. The pavilions were packed with families and young people, with passion, with new special contents, entertainment and events, which complement in an increasingly complete and engaging way the great commitment of the exhibitors, to to whom we extend our heartfelt thanks for the trust and loyalty they continue to show us. We also pay the same gratitude to our sponsors, partners and institutions that support Eicma”.

The appointment is therefore with the next edition of Eicma, scheduled from 5 to 10 November 2024.
