The 2021 edition also obtains the Iso 20121 certification
Eicma is also confirmed in the 2021 edition as the first trade fair event in the world in its sector to be certified by ISO 20121, the international standard for sustainable event management. After the recognition in 2019, the 78th International Two-wheeler Exhibition in Milan has in fact achieved this important certification again.
Yesterday evening, the President of Eicma SpA Pietro Meda and the CEO Paolo Magri received the important certificate directly from the hands of the Tuv Northern Italy CEO Stefano Porelli at the end of a complex process, supported by the Right Hub company, to make also the 2021 Edition sustainable from an economic, environmental and social point of view. The path towards obtaining the certification analyzed the impact characteristics in the planning and organization of the event, also in order to involve and influence all the stakeholders (visitors, suppliers, exhibitors, operators and media), promoting good practices and behaviors before , during and after Eicma 2021.
The president of Eicma SpA Pietro Meda, on the sidelines of the moment of delivery of the certificate, underlined “that obtaining this result represents an important recognition for the attention with which we have organized our event. By proudly assuming the responsibility of implementing and disseminating the principles of this standard, we make Eicma an international reference in the field of trade fairs also for sustainability “.
“Very satisfied” also the managing director Paolo Magri, who remarked how “Eicma’s commitment to sustainability goes hand in hand with that of the two-wheeler industry that we represent and welcome in this unique container in the world”.
Visitors to the 2021 Edition, scheduled to run until Sunday 28 November at Fiera Milano Rho, “will thus encounter coordinated communication installations in their visit experience to increase their awareness and learn about the prerogatives of certification”. They range from containers for separate waste collection to the ban on throwing cigarette butts on the ground, up to suggestions for reaching the Fiera Milano Rho exhibition center in a green way. Sustainable management also concerns energy efficiency, health and safety of the workers involved in the organization, the accessibility of people with disabilities in Eicma and the fight against food waste by collecting the surpluses produced during the event.
During the delivery of the certificate, Porelli was able to congratulate Eicma for the result achieved, underlining that “it represents the will to pursue sustainability objectives and evidence of the path of innovation and continuous improvement of this important trade fair”.
