The director mandates lawyers: “Hateful defamation towards 4 people who are no longer each other”
Enrico Vanzina is furious about an article that appeared in a weekly magazine instilling doubt that his brother Carlo was Totò’s son. A “fake news”, the director tells Adnkronos, who in a statement states that he has given a mandate to lawyers because the article in question, “a hateful and cynical example of pseudo-journalistic speculation, defames – in my opinion – 4 people who are no longer here: Totò, my father Steno, my brother Carlo and, above all, my mother Maria Teresa, and all this arouses disgusted indignation in me.”
“An article, complete with photographs, has appeared in the magazine “Nuovo” – written by Mrs. Matilde Amorosi – which tells of a video/interview (apparently by an influencer) with the actor Alvaro Vitali. The latter, claiming to have learned the news from a third person, says that my late brother Carlo Vanzina would be Totò’s illegitimate son”, states Vanzina.
“This article, a hateful and cynical example of pseudo-journalistic speculation, defames – in my opinion – 4 people who are no longer with us: Totò, my father Steno, my brother Carlo and, above all, my mother Maria Teresa, and all this raises me a disgusted indignation”, continues the director.
“For this reason, considering that this article has seriously damaged the reputation and memory of people of the highest moral and professional stature, linked to me by bonds of family love, I have given a mandate to the lawyer Antonio Conte of the Court of Rome to take action against those who became the protagonists of all this, asking for compensation for the defamation perpetrated, which I will then donate entirely to charity”, concludes Enrico Vanzina.
