Already received 1,500 applications from all over the world to participate in an operational role in the European Athletics Championships
The selections have officially begun for the volunteers who will take part in the “Roma 2024 Volunteers” project and will participate in an operational role in the European Athletics Championships in Rome 2024, scheduled from 7 to 12 June next year. Created by the EuroRoma 2024 Foundation, which takes care of the organization of the European Championships, with the support of Humangest, the Employment Agency of SGB Humangest Holding, the project has already collected around 1,500 applications which, from today, will begin to be examined with a view to of the final selection.
The European Athletics Championships will be one of the most important international sporting events scheduled for 2024 in Italy and represent an unrepeatable opportunity to bring together the global community of sports enthusiasts. The enthusiasm and anticipation for the event are demonstrated by the global participation in the “Roma 2024 Volunteers” project: in fact, more than 400 applications arrived from other countries in Europe and around the world, with requests coming from all continents. Applications will remain open until December 31st. People intending to take part in the “Roma 2024 Volunteers” project must fill out the form available on the website Eventi.humangest.it/job-seekers.php.
The Humangest team of recruiters will contact all candidates individually and organize cognitive interviews. The over one thousand volunteers who will be selected will receive some exclusive benefits: entry to the sports competitions scheduled during the European Athletics Championships, access to specific training meetings organized by Humangest and EuroRoma 2024, an official uniform that will be assigned to each volunteer and participation in the closing party.
Following the selection phase, the volunteers will follow an initial general training course, both online and in person, and will then be assigned to specific functional areas linked to the organization of the event: Accreditation, Services for spectators, Competitions, Protocol and Ceremonies , Media-Communication, Medical Area-Anti-Doping, Hotels, Logistics, Transport, Venues, Hospitality, Sponsor Services and Marketing. A portion of the volunteers will also be made available to the city, at strategic locations, and will take care of the information and tourist-cultural services in view of the European Championships. Requirements to participate:
a) have turned 18 by 6 June 2024, i.e. by the start date of Rome 2024 (or in any case have reached the age of majority at the start of the volunteer experience, in the case of collateral activities);
b) be Italian citizens with knowledge of the English language or citizens of other nationalities with knowledge of the English and Italian languages, basic level;
c) enjoy civil and political rights;
d) guarantee a minimum availability of participation in the event based on the dates of the official calendar and/or collateral events.
