European elections, Fdi amendment for off-site student voting exercise filed in the Senate

A amendment to the electoral decree to allow “the exercise of right to vote for off-site students on the occasion of the election of the members of the European Parliament due to Italy for the year 2024″ was presented to the Constitutional Affairs Commission of the Senate by Fdi signed by Lisei, Della porta, De priamo, Spinelli.

“On the occasion of the elections of the members of the European Parliament due to Italy for the year 2024 – we read – the non-resident voters who are temporarily domiciled for study reasons, for a period of at least three months in which the date of of the aforementioned electoral consultation, in an Italian municipality located in a region other than that in which the municipality in whose electoral lists they are registered is located, can exercise the right to vote in the manner provided for in this article”.

“When the municipality of temporary domicile belongs to the same electoral constituency as the municipality in whose lists they are registered, non-resident voters – we read – can vote in the municipality of temporary domicile. When the municipality of temporary domicile belongs to an electoral constituency different from that in which the municipality in whose lists they are registered falls, non-resident voters vote in the capital municipality of the region in which the municipality of temporary domicile is located”.
