This is what is foreseen in the draft law decree on elections expected tomorrow in the Council of Ministers
The European elections in Italy will be held from 2pm to 10pm on Saturday 8 June and from 7am to 11pm on Sunday 9 June. This is what is foreseen in the draft law decree on elections expected tomorrow in the Council of Ministers.
The same days and times apply in the event of simultaneous holding of elections for the European Parliament with regional ones and with a round of administrative elections for the Municipalities. In these cases, once the voting operations have been completed, we proceed with the counting for the European elections. At 2pm on Monday 10 June the one for the Regionals will begin, then moving on without interruption to the one for the Administrative.
Three terms in a row for mayors with up to 15 thousand inhabitants
The draft, subject to change, of the legislative decree on elections also provides for a third mandate consecutive for the mayors of municipalities between 5 thousand and 15 thousand inhabitants, where the limit of two consecutive terms now applies. The provision modifies article 51 of the consolidated law on the organization of local authorities, also eliminating the limits (now 3 consecutive mandates) for mayors of municipalities with up to 5 thousand inhabitants. The rule specifies that the mandates carried out or in progress at the entry into force of the decree are counted for the application of the provisions.
