F1 Japanese GP, Verstappen the fastest also in second free practice

The Red Bull driver precedes Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari and Lando Norris’s McLaren

Red Bull’s Max Verstappen was also fastest in the second free practice session of the F1 Japanese Grand Prix, on the Suzuka circuit. Today, 22 September 2023, the world champion preceded Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari by 320 thousandths and Lando Norris’s McLaren by 464. Carlos Sainz’s other red car was fourth at +0.549, then George Russell’s Mercedes (+0.640) and Fernando Alonso’s Aston Martin (+0.804). Closing out the top ten are Alexander Alobn’s Williams, Oscar Piastri’s McLaren, Sergio Perez’s Red Bull and Valtterri Bottas’ Alfa Romeo. Good 11th Stroll on his return after the accident in Singapore. On Sunday, Red Bull could win the sixth title in its history.

In first free practice the Dutch driver lapped in 1’31”647 ahead of the Ferrari of the Spaniard Carlos Sainz (+0”647) and the McLren of the British Lando Norris (+0”745). Fourth time for the Ferrari of Monegasque Charles Leclerc (+0”927).
