She had chosen Switzerland, the city of Kusnacht near Zurich, to spend the last years of her life with Tina Turner. In 2013 she had received Swiss citizenship, giving up her US passport.
Tina Turner was a superstar revered around the world. She has inspired millions through her personal story and her songs. Her musical legacy is a collection of some of the best-known songs of all time. The artist rose to prominence in 1958, at the age of 19, paired with her ex-husband Ike Turner, initially as the singer of the Kings of Rhythm, under the name of Little Ann. She first introduced herself to the public as Tina Turner in 1960 as a member of the ‘Ike & Tina Turner Revue’ with the hit single ‘A Fool In Love’.
They achieve success with a series of hits, including ‘It’s Gonna Work Out Fine’ (1961), ‘River Deep – Mountain High’ (1966), ‘Proud Mary’ (1971) and ‘Nutbush City Limits’ (1973). In 1976, Tina leaves the musical duo and divorces her. From that moment she began her solo career; in November 1983 she released a cover of Al Green’s ‘Let’s Stay Together’ which immediately became a great success.
In June 1984 he released the album ‘Private Dancer’ and his second single ‘What’s Love Got To Do with It’, which immediately became worldwide successes. From there, Tina became, and continued to be throughout her life, one of the most loved artists in the world. In Italy the duet made with Eros Ramazzotti, in 1993, for the latter’s piece ‘Cose della Vita’ has remained in the annals of music.

And it’s a huge loss, a huge loss to the community that loved her, certainly to the ‘music industry’.
