The Group intends to contribute with its expertise in particular in the topics of hydrogen and energy transition and environmental protection
Fincantieri has joined as a co-founding member of the Venice Sustainability Foundation (FVCMS/VSF). The Foundation is thus enriched with a partner capable of expanding the contribution that the network of members can give to the sustainable development of Venice and its metropolitan surroundings. Fincantieri, with its know-how and specializations, already boasts a consolidated presence in the Venetian territory thanks to the Porto Marghera factories. The Group intends to contribute with its expertise in particular in Hydrogen issues (participating in the development of a hydrogen valley in Porto Marghera) and energy transition and environmental protection. This is to encourage the development of new renewable energy supply chains and to bring benefits to the entire area and its high energy consumption production districts.
Renato Brunetta, President of the Venice World Capital of Sustainability Foundation, declared: «The entry of Fincantieri adds great value to the network of members on which the Foundation can count to regenerate, in a sustainable way, the metropolitan socio-economic fabric. Fincantieri’s contribution will allow us to further raise the level of the Foundation’s action, also to encourage the development of the human, social, technical and cultural heritage that the Venetian territory needs for its modernization”.
Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and General Manager of Fincantieri, commented: «It is with great pride that we join as co-founding partners alongside other companies, both Italian and international. This initiative not only strengthens our commitment to sustainable innovation, as outlined in our Industrial Plan, but also underlines the historical bond that our Group has with the territory through the Marghera construction site.”
