Evan Peters was born in St. Louis, Missouri. Speaking to the w magazinehe recalled being a great admirer of the films of Chris Farley and the musical styles of Vanilla Ice, Kris Kross and MC Hammer. He further confessed that he even wore the parachute pants made popular by the “Can’t Touch This” rapper.
But as Peters grew up possessing a keen sense of style, she didn’t catch the eye of someone who saw her raw star power until she packed her bags and headed for, no, not Hollywood, she went to Michigan as a teenager in 2001.
I used to look in the yellow pages to find a place to start taking acting classes.
“I was going to a local modeling and talent agency there and I was taking an acting class, and a photographer saw me and asked if I wanted him to shoot me for a manager he knew in Los Angeles,” Peters told Hero. That tape was her ticket to Hollywood.
But in some other alternate universe in the multiverse, if Peters had never become a fan of the Olsen twins, the “WandaVision” star might never have been discovered.
Evan Peters was a fan of an Olsen twins sitcom
After working in Hollywood for a while, Evan Peters ended up dating Emma Robertsa former child star whose acting career took off only a few years before hers.
But he told the w magazine that another pair of actresses who grew up in the spotlight, “Full House” icons Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, were the ones to they made him desperate to become an actor.
Admitting that both twins were her first celebrity crushes, she said: “They sort of took me to Los Angeles, because I thought, ‘I’ve got to meet them!'”
Peters told Hero that he was a fan of the twins’ Fox Family/ABC Family sitcom “So Little Time,” which aired from 2001 to 2002. On the show, the Olsens played sisters who split their time between their parents separated while doing normal teenage things like going to school, falling in love with classmates, and learning to drive.
Besides meeting the Olsens, one of Peters’ other big goals when she started acting was to one day have her own Disney Channel series.
“I was a big fan of Shia LaBeouf and Even Stevens,” he told W. While he never had his own show, from 2004 to 2005, Peters had a recurring role on “Phil of the Future” as Seth Wosmer, one of Phil’s (Raviv Ullman) friends. He also appeared in the Disney+ series “WandaVision.”
Evan Peters saw the Olsen twins while working with Elizabeth Olsen
Evan Peters played the mutant quicksilver in three “X-Men” movies between 2014 and 2019, and reprized his role as the speedy superhuman, more or less, when he joined the cast of “WandaVision” in 2021.
He and Elizabeth Olsen had to act like they had a strong sibling bond, and their characters’ interactions often had the surreal feel of a sitcom. Talking with Variety On how he prepared for his role, Peters said, “I like reading things, seeing things, getting references to get into that state of mind. When I was in Atlanta [para ‘WandaVision’] it was ‘Full House’ and ‘Malcolm in the Middle’.”
So I was looking at Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen act like little girls while working with their adult sister. That had to put Peters in the right weird frame of mind to star in a show about a witch who can manipulate reality and make her world look like “Full House.”
According to Elizabeth, she had a lot of fun playing Peters’ sister. “Working with Evan playing this version of Pietro [Quicksilver] it was so funny and weird and funny,” he told Variety.
He didn’t reveal if he introduced Peters to his two biggest childhood crushes, and unfortunately for the Olsen twins’ fan, he likely won’t get the chance to work with them: the last time one of the twins acted was when Mary -Kate Olsen appeared in the movie “Beastly” in 2011.
