80% have a technical degree
The certified internal energy managers of the company are 21% of the total internal (stable compared to last year), on the other hand the external and certified consultant energy managers are 71%, an increase of two points compared to 2020. This is what emerges from the Fire Report (Italian federation for the rational use of energy), presented today during the webinar ‘The culture of sustainability in Italy’ underway at the Palazzo dell’Informazione in Rome, which the Federation draws up every year with the aim of provide a detailed statistical picture of the nominations of energy managers received.
With regard to the education level of the appointed energy managers, it emerges that in 2021 around 80% of the appointed energy managers have a technical (engineering) degree; in almost all of the remaining cases they are figures with diplomas in technical subjects.
Furthermore, subjects who have appointed an energy manager, and who at the same time are in possession of ISO 50001 certification for their energy management system, are 321, approximately 8% more than last year. The trend of continuous increase over the years, often even in double figures from one year to the next, is one of the most comforting signs with a view to expanding the energy manager’s range of action. On this issue, we note, among other things, the study carried out in 2021 by Fire in collaboration with Cei and Cti regarding energy management systems in Italy.
