In the video, Ximena Navarrete Rosette opened his heart and explained what it was like to find out that her baby had a genetic problem and would not survive: “I got pregnant very quickly, everything was going well, until we got to the 3D ultrasound, that’s when we found out. We had already told it publicly, it had been days since we told it, because everything was going well. The baby is lost, because it cannot end to form well”.
Ximena shared that this was a painful and difficult experience to overcome. “It was a very strong experience, you never think that something like this will happen to you. It was very ugly, very sad, I was surrounded by all the people who love me, but even so, it was a very difficult process,” she said.
The model also explained why she decided to speak publicly about her loss: “I took it as a commitment, because people need to talk about it. I felt like the only person in the world going through it.” Ximena wanted to show that the loss of a baby is a taboo subject that needs to be openly discussed.
Ximena also spoke about the healing process she had to go through after the loss of her baby:
“I had help from a therapist, but some time later. I had the support of my family, my mother, she also suffered a loss before I was born (…) It is a process that takes a lot of pain, especially if you were looking for that baby The only thing that helps is time, the passage of time, going to therapy, working on it, occupying your mind with other things, trying to exercise, getting it out in another way, are the little things that add up and it’s the step of time which helps you to understand what happened, heal and heal”.
Ximena also shared how this experience has affected her as a mother in her second pregnancy: “It scares me to think that something could happen, that everything that happened to me in the first pregnancy could happen again. But it is something that I have to overcome, because if not I can’t enjoy my second pregnancy”.
Through her experience, Ximena has shown her strength and her commitment to speak up on difficult issues. Her bravery and honesty are a reminder to all that we are not alone in our struggles and that there is always hope and light at the end of the tunnel.
